Konami has announced a set of 数字艺术品s to commemorate the 35th anniversary of the Castlevania series.
The company is planning to auction off 14 different pieces of artwork from the franchise via 数字艺术品 marketplace Opensea, starting January 12.
"Konami Memorial 数字艺术品 is a new initiative to share content that has been loved by players all over the world, for many years," the firm said in a statement.
"As the companys first project in this area and with 数字艺术品s and blockchain technology in its infancy, Konami will continue to explore new developments and listen to player feedback following this initial collection."
Konami is the latest in a line of companies to make an 数字艺术品 push of late. In a New Years Letter, Square Enix president Yosuke Matsuda said that blockchain technology will be a "major strategic theme" for the company this year.
Last month, Ubisoft announced its new 数字艺术品 platform Ubisoft Quartz, but was met with criticism from employees, with some staff calling the news "confusing" and "upsetting."
Back in October, Valve announced that it would not allow blockchain and 数字艺术品 games to be published on Steam, while Epic Games CEO Tim Sweeney confirmed that the Epic Games Store is open to the trend, "provided they follow the relevant laws."
