Apple has become the first company to reach a market cap of $3 trillion.
The tech giant reached the milestone yesterday, as its stock grew to $182.88 per share.
By the time trading stopped for the day, the shares had decreased slightly to close at $182.01 a piece -- a $2.99 trillion value.
Apple already was the first company to reach a $1 trillion market cap in 2018, and was soon followed by Amazon.
Microsoft reached the same milestone in April 2019, and is now the company thats the closest to the $3 trillion cap, currently valued at $2.5 trillion. It had reached a $2 trillion valuation in June 2021.
Apples market value topped $2 trillion in August 2020.
Meta (then known as Facebook) also joined the $1 trillion club in June 2021.
